First, turn your Bluetooth OFF on your mobile device, and then back ON again before opening the app.
Next, make sure your CHiP and firmware is up to date your device. To ensure a successful firmware update please follow these pointers when updating CHiP via the App:
- Avoid closing the app or switching to a different app during the update process.
- Please keep your smart device near CHiP and avoid moving too far away. Stay in the same room or within a few metres.
If it fails again for any reason, don’t panic! If CHiP’s firmware update was interrupted or failed, CHiP might be stuck in “DFU mode”. Check out our tutorial on DFU Mode here.
Note: Make sure your smart device and CHiP are charged and not low on battery. If one or both die during the update it will interrupt it causing problems.
